Saturday morning, we looked at furniture for the baby's room. Since we're having another girl, we decided white furniture was the way to go. I found the set that we purchased for Eden back in 2011, and we may just purchase that same set for baby girl 2. At least they won't be able to fight over furniture :)
I've been blessed with a pretty decent pregnancy experience. Yes, the first tri nausea was awful, but was to be expected. This little girl sits quite low in the uterus. In fact, she moves around quite a bit, but most of the movement seems to be in the lower portion. Unfortunately, her love of the lower uterus has wreaked havoc on my veins. I've had vein issues for as long as I can remember, but this second pregnancy has really put a hurtin' on my legs. I've got big bruises on my upper hamstring, and inner portion of my left thigh. It's been painful, especially when I have to pee, but I dont think there's much I can do about it.
I woke up late last Saturday night with a horrible sore throat. I battled that for a day, and was also plagued with a head cold and stuffy nose. I really thought it would go away in a day or two, but here we are a week later, and I'm still stuffed up and blowing my nose all the time. I really don't think it's a contagious thing b/c neither Randy nor Eden have been sick (thankfully), but I just can't seem to shake it. I've also started this weird dry cough when I lay down at night, which makes sleeping more difficult. sigh..
such is life. I've been avoiding taking any medicine unless I absolutely don't think I can make it without some relief. I took one allergy pill last Wednesday, and that's the best I've slept in a while.
| Mommy at 20 weeks |
Eden has been cracking us up lately. This toddler stage is quite an adventure. We took E on the boat for the first time a couple weeks ago since my mom was here to help out. She loved it when we went really slow, but once we started really going, she was done. Wind in the hair was not for Eden. The poor kid has to wear a huge life jacket for the next few years, and that didn't help the situation much either. I don't blame her..I'm glad I don't have to wear one.
Yesterday, we decided to take E to ride the carousel at Pier Park. She is obsessed with horses..really most animals these days, and thought it would be a fun outing for her. We let her watch it go around once, and then I took her first. She picked her horse, got on and seemed to be excited. That is until the horse started moving up and down. Good grief I've never been clung to that hard.
I spent most of my carousel ride trying to convince Eden to hold onto the pole and not me, and then finally figured out that she would probably like it better if she sat with me. Duh!
After maneuvering my way onto the moving horse with my 22 pound child in tow (and pregnant mind you), she calmed down. Then it ended. Hah! Thankfully Randy bought a ticket for both of us, so he took her as well. She had a much better time the second go round since she was able to sit with Daddy and feel more secure.
I guess that's our latest happenings here lately. R went snapper fishing for the first time of the season..he came up empty handed. He's planning on trying his luck again this weekend with his dad and brother. Maybe they'll be more lucky?? I told him not to bring home any fish..I might throw up.
