I'll be honest, this week has been so much better than last week!
I'm fortunate to have a pretty good immune system, which means rarely getting sick. That seems to change when I'm pregnant. Last Sunday night, I noticed my stomach was bothering me, but it seemed like pregnancy heartburn.
I woke up Monday not feeling great, but made breakfast and made it to the gym. By the time E and I left the gym and headed to Publix to pick up a couple of things really quick, I wasn't feeling so hot.
I had flashbacks to my pregnancy with Eden, where I felt sick right around this same time in pregnancy, but I felt worse when pregnancy with Eden.
We came home, got things unpacked, and I prayed that Eden would take an early nap so I could lay down. Thankfully, she went down before lunch (which is rare), and I laid in the bed while she was napping. I made E's lunch, texted R that I wasn't feeling so good, and attempted to eat a little myself.
R came home at 3, and I went straight to the bed for about an hour. I had called the OBGYN and asked for some nausea meds, and I had R pick them up while I slept. By dinner time at 5:30, I knew I was definitely out for the count. I took a Zofran (which actually made me almost throw up..weird), and went back to bed. R gave E her bath and got her in the bed, and I stayed in bed.
R had 3 meetings he was leading the next day, so I knew he couldn't stay home to help with E. I asked him to call and see if his mom could come from Mobile to help. She was able to come by lunchtime the next day, and I am so, so glad.
What a weird stomach thing I had. I never threw up, and I never really had bad stomach cramps like you normally would, but was sick to my stomach for 5, yes, 5 days. I finally called the ob that Thursday and thought maybe I needed to come in and be evaluated. The nurse said try gas-x..(yea that did nothing but make me feel worse), and said if I wasn't better by the next day to come in. R's mom left Thursday afternoon, and by Friday, I finally began feeling like my old tired, pregnant self again.
I was worried that not eating much for 5 days would make me lose a few pounds, and ya'll know I definitely didn't need to lose any weight. I weighed at the gym on Monday and it seemed I lost a pound. I was happy that was all.
I weighed again at the gym today, and I was back to my former pre-sickness weight.
Sigh...I am really praying that this is the end of pregnancy illness for me. I wash my hands all the time, and try to be careful, but darn it I guess my defenses just aren't as good as normal.
In other notes, we went Saturday afternoon and ordered baby sister's bedroom furniture. It's coming in tomorrow, so R and I have to pick it up. So exciting! We did end up buying the same set E has, and I know it will look pretty in the baby's room.
I went through E's nb-3 mo clothes on Monday, and most of what she had will work for the new baby. It's all washed up and ready for her new dresser. I didn't realize how many sleepers Eden had until I washed them. Baby sis will be all set for the first few months of life.
We've picked the first name, but haven't agreed upon a middle name yet. Once we do, I'll post the full name :)
