Before I knew I had Crohn's, I wondered why I had the symptoms that I was experiencing. Now that I know, it's an every day battle to try to feel good. Each day is a new day, and I never really know how I am going to feel. Today has been ok; not my best day, but not my worst.
Randy and I used to each Chick Fil A twice a week (bad, I know), and now that I know Chick Fil A uses MSG on their chicken, I will no longer eat there. R on the other hand doesn't care about MSG, and of course wants to still eat there. I've been making my own chicken breast and bringing it with me and placing it on a side salad from CFA. Unfortunately, the salad contains cheese, and dairy is officially out for me. I told Randy that I'm going to have to start bringing my own salad too..good grief!!
On a side note, I made a GF/DF ice cream type treat for a snack today. I used a recipe I found in a cookbook, and next time I make it, I will play around with the flavors more.
Banana Nut Butter Mush
1 ripe banana sliced and frozen
1/4 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
1/4 cup milk substitute (I used coconut milk)
dash of cinnamon
1/8 tsp of vanilla or almond extract
*I also added about a tsp of unsweetened coconut to mine*
Blend ingredients until smooth. Eat fresh or freeze 10 minutes
I thought it was pretty decent, but I will add more vanilla and a touch of honey or agave next time I make it.
Sounds yummy. You're gonna learn to love coconut milk. We even put it in our coffee.
